A message from the Founder…

Thanks for visiting my website! The goal was to create something a bit more informal, similar to a blog, rather than the traditional approach taken by the majority of CPA firms. I even built it myself.

Prior to RMJR Tax and Accounting, I was working in the tax department of a pretty prestigious pharmaceutical company. It’s one of those places people start working at fresh out of college and never leave. I learned a lot there, and my co-workers were great, but at the end of the day, I wanted to do something a bit more fulfilling. The best part about my job isn’t the work itself; it’s bringing new clients on board and building relationships that last for a long time.

When I’m not reviewing your tax return or answering e-mails, there’s a good chance I’m doing some sort of athletic activity. I play a fair amount of men’s slow-pitch softball, so if you ever need a guy who can hit the long ball, perhaps I’d fit the bill. I’m also a big fan of Football Sundays and spend way too much time reading about analytics. Nothing gets under my skin more than a coach mentions “establishing the run”, “field position”, and “taking the points”.

If you’re currently in the market for a new tax accountant, my only advice would be to go with someone who meshes well with your personality and, more importantly, is responsive. The most common reply we get from prospective clients about why they are looking for someone new is that the previous firm they worked with did not answer their calls or e-mails in a timely manner. We’re all pretty knowledgeable when it comes to tax laws, but excellent customer service is what I believe to be the difference between a run-of-the-mill experience and a first-class one.
